Learn to multiply any number by 15 in your head in two steps, with no carrying. The rule: multiply by 10 (add a zero), then add half of that. Example: 15 × 48. Times 10 is 480. Half of 480 is 240. 480 + 240 = 720. Odd numbers work the same way: 15 × 53. Times 10 is 530. Half of 530 is 265 (half of 500 is 250, half of 30 is 15). 530 + 265 = 795.
