How China Built the World’s Longest Bridge-Tunnel Sea Crossing

How do you build a 55-kilometer road connection across the sea? The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects ever built across the Pearl River Estuary. Stretching approximately 55 kilometers, the project combines bridges, artificial islands, roads and a massive subsea tunnel to connect Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao. The system includes a 29.6-kilometer Main Bridge, a 12-kilometer Hong Kong Link Road and a 13.4-kilometer Zhuhai Link Road.
