"A Counterfeit Crown" (Luke 4:1-13)

We live in a world full of COUNTERFEIT products, don't we?  Fake designer items, fake IDs, fake social media posts....and the whole reasons that counterfeits exist is because something genuine ALREADY exists which couldn't NORMALLY be obtained by those seeking the fake stuff. Well....likewise, Satan flaunts a COUNTERFEIT power and authority over humanity because he HAS NO real authority of his own to create or sanction ANYTHING.  He can only imitate, distort, and counterfeit what God has already established. This is what we see happening in the Gospel of Luke 4:1-13.  There, we see Jesus confronting Satan in the wilderness and exposing the difference between counterfeit power and genuine power.....between stolen authority and sovereign authority....and between temporary glory and eternal glory.
