A political controversy has emerged over the mobilisation of tribal communities and Congress supporters from Jharkhand for the INDIA bloc's November 1 rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Congress leaders Bandhu Tirkey and Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey flagged off buses carrying participants from Ranchi. Reports say that members of tribal communities, including the Tana Bhagat community, along with cultural groups and party supporters, are travelling to Delhi by buses, trains and other means. The controversy raises questions about the conditions of long-distance travel, informed participation and the responsibility of political organisers towards vulnerable communities. Are tribal communities being given a meaningful voice in political campaigns, or are they being reduced to numbers at political rallies?
