Pipa, sometimes called the Chinese lute, is one of the most popular traditional instruments in China. It has a history of more than 2,000 years and is an important symbol in Chinese culture and music. Pipa has 4 strings tuning to A-D-E-A and usually played with artificial fingernails. Due to its versatile power to articulate sentiments, Pipa is reputed “King of Pluck Instruments.”
