Wild Heron Encounter & New Chick! | Aviary Update

Welcome back to another weekly aviary update! The weather is finally starting to clear up, and we have some exciting milestones alongside the usual breeding season challenges. In this update, we check in on our breeding cages: our recessive pied pairs, greywings, and Texas Clearbodies. We have brand-new chicks hatching, nest box checks, and growing babies showing off their first pin feathers! We also run into a few hurdles—making tough calls on pairing changes, managing subtle health signs, and keeping up with daily care routines. After checking the aviary, we head outside to spot some local wildlife and get a visit from a native white-faced heron, plus Canada geese, rosellas, and more!
