Have you ever wanted to try naturally dyeing but don't know where to start? Avocado skins and pits create a beautiful soft, pastel pink. I will share with you all the steps you need to know. Have a question? Let me know in the comment section! Also, let me know how your project turns out!
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
-natural fabric to dye
-safety equipment (gloves, eye protection, apron, respirator or mask * if using mask still don't breathe the fumes/dust as cloth masks don't provide full protection*)
-kitchen scale
-plenty of clean avocado skins and pits
-pot to mordant and dye in (don't use kitchen pots you plan to cook in)
-mordant (aluminum sulfate)
-scouring agent (washing soda)
washing soda percentage: 1-2% WOF (weight of fabric)
WOF (grams) X 0.02=x grams of washing soda
mordant percentage: 12-15% WOF (weight of fabric
WOF (grams) X 0.15=x grams of mordant
