Set in the 1970s era, the layout represents an alternate history as if the Western Pacific had built north into Oregon. The modeled portion of the layout runs between Klamath Falls and Portland.  Like most privately owned layouts, this one is a work in progress. Mike shares some of his future plans with us as we follow a freight extra on its journey from Klamath Falls to Portland. Along the way, we have meets with other trains and hear about some of the places on the route. Mike has been an active modeler for close to 50 years, and has a whole lot of very nice equipment that he operates on his layout. In addition to this, his collection includes a lot of very impressive scratch-built structures, including the centerpiece of his layout: a large award-winning lumber mill built by Mike's friend, Nick Haskell. This amazing piece of art is finished both inside and out and features exquisite details even as minute as sawdust on the floor!
