The Sinclair family - Margaret, Thomas and their young son Caleb - lived in an old house that had been in their family for generations, on the edge of a dark forest. Margaret was known to practise strange rituals in secret, though she kept them hidden from her family. One stormy night, feeling an insatiable need for more power, she decided to try a spell she'd long feared: a summoning ritual from an ancient, forbidden scroll.
Alone in the basement, Margaret drew symbols in her own blood on the cold basement floor and began to chant. The air thickened and the room grew colder. Out of the darkness a creature began to take shape. Burning red eyes fixed on her.
Before she could scream, the monster was upon her. Her screams were swallowed by the basement walls, leaving the rest of the house undisturbed.
Upstairs, Thomas and Caleb slept, unaware of the horror unfolding below. In the middle of the night, the creature crept up from the basement, its shadow stretching along the walls as it moved through the house. It crept into the bedrooms where Thomas and Caleb lay defenceless, lost in dreams.
By morning, the house was silent. The villagers, realising the family hadn't come out, went to check on them. Inside they found empty rooms, bloodstains and unfamiliar paw prints on the cold wooden floor. The Sinclairs had vanished, leaving only an unnatural chill and a darkness that seemed to breathe in the shadows, whispering of something terrible that still lingered somewhere in the darkness.

So i felt awful having to destroy the graves. I mean talk about a good way to make your house haunted :/ otherwise this one was pretty good, the high ceilings were sometimes not fun but as much as i don’t love the look of painted houses, it’s much more pleasant than having to tile them. I was originally intimidated by the size and everything but actually it was really fun and not at all stressful. I do think not being able to make it daytime on the lot is dumb and actively makes doing the build harder, also the thumbnails and things have to be dark which sucks. You can see when i had stopped and returned later because i tried to sleep again XD
