🔧 ANSYS Fluent Tutorial: Conduction & Convection Heat Transfer in a Triangular Fin 🔧
In this tutorial, we simulate steady-state heat transfer in a triangular fin using ANSYS Fluent. The fin is attached to a base at 356 K and exposed to ambient air at 294 K, with a convective heat transfer coefficient of 95 W/m²·K. We analyze both conduction through the fin and convection from its surface to predict the temperature distribution — with a specific focus on the tip (corner) temperatures at the free end of the triangular geometry.
📌 What You’ll Learn:
How to model a triangular fin geometry in ANSYS
Setting up material properties and boundary conditions
Applying heat conduction and convection in Fluent
Meshing strategy for accurate results
Post-processing to extract temperature at the tip
🎯 Objective:
To determine the temperature at the two corner tips of the triangular fin under combined conduction and convection heat transfer.
🛠️ Software Used:
ANSYS Fluent (steady-state thermal simulation)
