At one point during the show, we were unexpectedly pulled in to assist the Japanese judges as a translator, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at how koi are evaluated. We also highlight some unique koi at the show, including varieties like Shunrai and Tancho Ochiba. During the event, we deal with an unexpected situation as some of our koi begin spawning in the tubs, leading to a quick and necessary transfer to keep everything under control. This video gives a more realistic look at what goes on behind the scenes at a koi show, beyond just the winners and displays.
