The B1 type rolling stock, manufactured by CSR Zhuzhou, is the older model operating on Guangzhou Metro Line 3. They were built in 3 car trainsets, but are almost always coupled in twin 6 car configuration due to chronic overcrowding on this line. The B1 type is fitted with Siemens IGBT-VVVF traction control system, has a design maximum speed of 135km/h and a service maximum speed of 120km/h. These trains are usually confined to the Tianhe Coach Terminal to People Square section of Line 3.
