1 YEAR IN NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿 — MY REAL INTERNATIONAL STUDENT JOURNEY I came to New Zealand in August 2025 as an international student to study Early Childhood Education (ECE). One year later, my course is completed and I’m now a registered teacher in New Zealand. ❤️🇳🇿 In this video, I’m sharing my REAL experience of the past one year — including my studies, practical placements, finding jobs, working as a relieving teacher, my earnings, and the challenges of managing study + work + personal life. 💰 My total earning during this journey: approximately NZD $20,300 (~₹11 lakh) But there’s an important point: this is my personal earning, not a guaranteed amount for every international student. I had a casual ECE job, so my working hours were not guaranteed every week. I worked under my permitted conditions, initially around 20 hours per week, and later my permitted hours increased to 25 hours per week. I also had three practical placements, during which I wasn’t working, so my earning was not across all 12 months. In this video, I talk about: 🇳🇿 Why I came to New Zealand 🎓 My one-year ECE course 👶 What Early Childhood Education means in New Zealand 💼 How I found my first and second jobs 👩‍🏫 What a relieving teacher does ⏰ My 20-hour → 25-hour work journey 💰 How I earned approximately NZD $20,300 📚 Balancing study, assignments, practicals and work ❤️ Living away from my son in India 🇳🇿 My journey from international student to registered teacher 💭 The reality of student life in New Zealand 💪 What I learned from one year here Disclaimer: My experience is personal. Job availability, wages, working hours, visa conditions, expenses and study experiences can vary from student to student. Always check the latest official New Zealand requirements for your own situation. If you’re planning to study in New Zealand, I hope my journey gives you a realistic idea of what my experience was like. ❤️ Comment below: Are you planning to come to New Zealand as a student?
