Why the base resistor in Darlington transistor circuits? With demo

You will often see a resistor connected from the base of the second (driven) transistor to ground (or emitter) in Darlington circuits. This video explains one reason why this is done. NOTE: when talking about the Darlington transistor gain calculation, ignore the resistors in the diagram as they will reduce the gain.
