今回は、若い黒松の芽掻きと古い黒松の葉透かしを対比的に行いました。 芽掻きは、複数の芽を持ちすぎて成長できずにいる場合に、芽数を調整する作業です。 冬季の葉透かし剪定の前段として行っておくと、小さな芽を保護し成長を促すことができますよ。 古い黒松においては、あまり多く芽を持つことは少ないので、葉透かしで古い葉を早めに取り除き来春のより良い芽吹きを促します。 This time, I contasted the mekaki pruning of young black pines with the hasukashi pruning of an old one. When a branch tip has multiple new buds, they may not be able to grow properly. At that time, we use mekaki pruning to adjust the number of buds and encourage the growth of each bud. On the other hand, older black pines rarely have many second buds at the tips of their branches after the mekiri pruning in July..
