Check Your Compass

Are you heading in the right direction? In this episode of Built For More, we’re talking about the importance of checking your compass and making sure your life is being directed by God—not by your emotions, circumstances, fears, desires, or the influence of others. Sometimes we get distracted because we start stepping into someone else’s lane. Sometimes we spend more time asking, “How much can I get away with?” instead of asking, “What does God want me to do?” Think about your car. When you’re going somewhere you’ve never been, you put the destination into your navigation and follow the directions. Our walk with God should be the same way. We need to seek Him every morning and continue looking to Him throughout the day for direction. And if you’ve never asked Jesus to come into your life, start there today. That is the first and most important step. Your compass doesn’t remove the obstacles in your path—it simply keeps you moving in the right direction. So ask yourself: -What is directing and influencing me? -Am I being led by God’s Word or by my feelings and desires? -When something unexpected happens, does it completely throw my day off course? -Am I staying in the lane God has called me to?
