5,259 మంది ఉన్న ఈ దీవిని రాత్రికి రాత్రే ఎందుకు ఖాళీ చేశారు? | Mystery of Hashima Island Just off the coast of Nagasaki, Japan, lies Hashima Island—an eerie, battleship-shaped island packed with crumbling concrete buildings that has been completely abandoned since 1974. Bought by the Mitsubishi Corporation to mine undersea coal, this tiny rock became the most densely populated place in Japanese history by 1959, housing 5,259 people before petroleum replaced coal and forced every resident to evacuate within just three months. However, behind its industrial boom lies a dark secret that Japan tried to hide from the world. When Japan applied for UNESCO World Heritage status for Hashima, South Korea, North Korea, and China fiercely opposed the move. Watch till the end to uncover how this island functioned as a brutal prison during World War II, where Chinese prisoners of war and young Korean boys like 14-year-old Suh Jung-woo were subjected to horrific forced labor deep beneath the sea.
