Spiti Circuit 2026 | Episode 09 The journey from Chandrataal to Manali continues — and this might have been the toughest stretch of the entire Spiti Circuit. In this second part of Kaza to Manali, After leaving the beautiful Chandrataal Lake, we descended towards one of the most challenging roads of the journey. For almost 130 KM, there was barely any proper road — just rocks, broken tracks, water crossings, waterfalls and some seriously rough off-road sections. Our first and only major stop after leaving Chandrataal was the legendary Chacha Chachi Chandra Dhaba, one of the only food stops on this remote route. After that, it was time to get back behind the wheel. As we continued towards Manali, the Chenab River stayed beside us for a huge part of the journey, all the way towards the Atal Tunnel. The road conditions forced us to slow down considerably, carefully navigating rocks, potholes, water crossings and rough mountain sections. But there was one thing that made every frustrating kilometre worth it… The views. The landscapes throughout this route were absolutely mind-boggling — enormous mountains, deep valleys, the powerful Chenab River and some of the most untouched scenery of the entire Spiti – Manali journey. After kilometers of pure off-roading, the terrain eventually begins to change as we approach the Atal Tunnel and the Manali side, where proper roads finally return. This wasn't just a drive from Chandra taal to Manali.
