If you own a Volkswagen ID.4, ID.3, ID.5, or a Skoda Enyaq / Audi Q4 e-tron, this DIY brake fluid flush guide applies to you. These cars all share the VW MEB platform, and the brake fluid procedure is essentially the same. VW recommends replacing brake fluid every 2 years, regardless of mileage. In this video, I'll show you the exact steps, the tools you need, and the mistakes I made so you don't have to. Bleed order: Front Right Front Left Rear Right Rear Left Timestamps (Critical for YouTube Search and Watch Time): 0:00 - Introduction 0:29 - Brake Fluid You Need (VW 501 14 / DOT 4 Class 6) 1:03 - Brake Bleed Kit from Aliexpress 1:17 - Accessing the Reservoir & Bleeder Screws (Front & Rear Drum) 5:28 - Finishing Up: ABS Activation Fluid Spec: VW recommends using brake fluid that meets VW 501 14 or DOT 4 Class 6. Important Note on Rear Brakes: The ID.4 rear uses drum brakes, and the bleeder screw is behind the drum, use 7mm socket to loosen it. Front brakes require 11mm wrench. After the Flush: Drive crazy and brake on ice/snow/gravel to activate the ABS at least once to cycle fluid through the ABS pump.
