Sony BVW-D600ws Camcorder / Betacam Testing / 091914

Nothing to see, really. Simply testing out one of my old Sony BVW-D600ws camcorder. Standard Definition footage but higher quality SD, considered older SD broadcast quality. 2/3 camera sensors along with quality lens produce great SD footage. Still in use in many parts of the world today. This footage was rendered in 720p but is standard definition. Sony BVW-D600ws specifications, 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 sampling in NTSC (720×486) Old obsolete camcorder but still useful. Original price on this camcorder was approx 55,000.00. I actually own two of these BVW-D600ws. Both are in mint condition with very low hours. Both are set up to record direct to hard drive via a Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle SSD Field Recorder in order to bypass using tape. Recording uncompressed footage creates extremely large files and the SD quality is great. Of course the files need to be compressed for YT and the footage looks much better uncompressed on the studio big screen. These old Sony Engineering Camcorders can be purchased today for several hundred dollars but don't bother. Too much money for support equipment and when they need repair hold onto your hat. Expensive. Your much better off with consumer grade HD camera equipment. The only reason I use this equipment is because I have owned it for some time and not using them is harder on the camera than using it. Besides, I am a camera / camcorder junky, Lol.
