The Wonder of When: Luke 2.1-7, Third Sunday of Advent - Worship @ GPC 15/12/24

Because we live in a timebound reality, "when" is a really important word. When will this happen? When will I know? When will my Father in Heaven answer me? When will this end? Events happen in time. So it has been for Natasha and her family. We will be hearing her story of wonder tomorrow morning. And so it was for Joseph and Mary. They experienced a whole series of "whens" that culminated in the arrival of their firstborn, David's Son, their son, the fulfillment of the most important promise to the world, the promise of rescue. This all happened when, as Luke tells us, Quirinius was the Governor of Syria. We will think about these things in a time when the Assad family no longer rule with brutality in Syria and we wonder what comes next for that wartorn nation. But more personally we have our own "when" to bring to Jesus. Tomorrow we will, as we contemplate "The Wonder of When...". I so look forward to being with you in worship, prayer and in the Word as we continue to prepare to celebrate Jesus' birth together. Our mission at Gorebridge Parish is to encourage everyone to live in the reality of Jesus' love. We pray this helps you to do so in your life. CCLI 144972
