What is Vox Humana?

As an organ technician, Vox Humana has always been an organ stop. A sound from the Reed family of organ sounds that imitated the human voice. So when a viewer of a video I made about string ensemble sound said it sounded like a Vox Humana, I didn't get the connection. After I asked him to send me some examples he did. Gary Numan Cars was one of those examples. Well, the lead sound at the beginning does sound like a string ensemble sound.
