Operation Sealion, UK | Paradrops | Easy Red 2 Alternate History Mod

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... Mission by clarkie_boi Map by Hedgefog Operation Sea Lion (Unternehmen Seelöwe) was Nazi Germany’s planned invasion of Britain during World War II in 1940. It was intended to follow Germany's rapid conquest of France in June 1940. Hitler hoped to force Britain out of the war or defeat it militarily by landing German troops along England's southern coast, establishing beachheads, and then advancing inland toward London and other strategic areas. The plan was never carried out. The critical prerequisite was German control of the skies over southern England, because the Royal Navy vastly outnumbered Germany's surface fleet and could potentially destroy an invasion fleet crossing the English Channel. During the Battle of Britain (July–October 1940), the Luftwaffe failed to eliminate the RAF or establish the air superiority Germany needed. Britain also retained a powerful navy, coastal defenses, an extensive radar network, and a large army that had been rebuilt after the evacuation from Dunkirk. Hitler postponed Sea Lion indefinitely in September 1940 and eventually abandoned the invasion as Germany turned its attention toward the Soviet Union.
