COLD WORLD | Waves of Ash
A journey through emotional numbness, isolation, and the illusion of freedom after losing someone who once mattered.
“COLD WORLD” descends into a frozen inner landscape where silence becomes shelter, loneliness becomes a prison, and the past refuses to disappear. Blending Christian metal, ritual doom, post-rock, and progressive metal, the song moves from darkness and spiritual exhaustion toward a fragile sense of hope.
It is a song about rebuilding what was broken, confronting the walls we create around ourselves, and discovering that even in the coldest place, something inside can still burn.
This is not the end of the story.

COLD WORLD
[Intro — Ritual / Ambient]
[Low male chant, distant choir, slow toms]
Ash on the window
Dust in the hall
I thought I was free
When I stopped feeling at all
The silence became my shelter
The darkness became my throne
I built these walls with my own hands
Then wondered why I was alone
[Verse 1 — Doom Metal / Clean Vocals]
I walked away beneath a hollow sky
Left every promise somewhere far behind
I called it freedom when I closed the door
But every night I needed something more
No voice could reach me
No light could stay
I buried every color
And watched it fade away
I learned to breathe without believing
Learned to wake without a reason
Every road became a circle
Every sunrise felt like leaving
[Pre-Chorus — Building]
And I keep running from the things I fear
Only to find them waiting here
I changed my name, I changed my face
But I could never outrun this place
[Chorus — Massive Post-Rock / Metal]
How long can I endure this frozen world?
How long before this heart remembers how to feel?
I traded love for an empty kingdom
Built from everything I couldn't heal
I thought the chains were finally broken
I thought the night would set me free
But I became the walls around me
And lost the person I was meant to be
[Verse 2 — Dark Progressive Metal]
Down into the chambers underneath
Where every buried memory still breathes
I hear the echoes of another life
Calling through the static every night
I made a home inside the distance
I wore indifference like a crown
Every hand that tried to reach me
Was another hand I pushed back down
I said, "I don't need anybody"
Like loneliness was proof of strength
But every step away from others
Only stretched the silence out for miles
[Ritual Interlude — Whispered / Choir]
Where did I go?
Where did I go?
Beneath the stone
Beneath the skin
Beneath the person
I have been
Wake me...
Wake me...
[Pre-Chorus 2 — Rising]
I have been sleeping with my eyes wide open
Counting all the years that I have wasted
If this is freedom, why am I still trembling?
If this is peace, why does it feel so vacant?
[Chorus — Heavier / Layered Vocals]
How long can I endure this frozen world?
How long before this heart remembers how to feel?
I traded love for an empty kingdom
Built from everything I couldn't heal
I thought the chains were finally broken
I thought the night would set me free
But I became the walls around me
And lost the person I was meant to be
[Bridge — Slow Doom / Spoken Clean Vocal]
Maybe I was never abandoned
Maybe I abandoned myself
Maybe the door was always open
But I was afraid to leave
I blamed the winter for the cold
While carrying the snow inside
I asked the heavens for an answer
Then turned away from every sign
[Progressive Instrumental Break]
[Breakdown — Harsh Vocals]
I AM NOT THE VOID!
I AM NOT THE FEAR!
I AM NOT THE YEARS
THAT DISAPPEARED!
I WILL NOT WORSHIP
THE LIFELESS THRONE!
I WILL NOT CALL
THIS CAGE MY HOME!
[Quiet Bridge — Piano / Clean Guitar / Choir]
If You can hear me through the silence
If there is still a road beyond this night
Teach these frozen hands to open
Teach these blinded eyes to find the light
I don't need to become who I was
I don't need to erase what I've been
I only need the strength to step forward
And let something living begin
[Final Chorus — Epic Christian Metal / Post-Rock]
How long must I remain in this frozen world?
How long can a soul sleep beneath the weight?
I have mistaken numbness for freedom
And built my prison out of yesterday
But I can hear something beyond the darkness
A distant voice beneath the stone
Calling me out from the silence
Reminding me I'm not alone
I won't let the cold define me
I won't let the past become my name
Even after everything I've lost
There is still a fire beneath the flame
[Final Breakdown / Choir]
Rise from the silence
Rise from the stone
Rise from the places
Where you thought you were alone
The night is not forever
The cold is not the end
What I built to keep the world away
I can tear down again
[Outro — Ritual / Atmospheric]
The world is cold...
But I am still here.
The silence is deep...
But I can still hear.
One breath.
One step.
One light beyond the fear.
I thought I was lost forever...
But I am still here.
