Japanese black pine Niwaki, early development work

This is Pinus Thunbergii, named after a Swedish botanist. Naturally growing on the shores of Japan. A very popular species for Niwaki pruning. Some of the most magnificent trees are almost 1000 years old and grow in emperors or monastery gardens in Japan. In this vid I show how I am working with my Niwaki trees in early development. The aim is a 1,5 to 2 meter high forest planting.
