Five were ready. Five were not. Then the Bridegroom came—and *the door was shut.*
“Keep Oil in Your Lamp” is inspired by Jesus’ parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1–13. All ten women had lamps. All ten were waiting. But only five had prepared enough oil for the delay.
This song asks every woman a personal question: *Are you ready?*
We prepare for careers, families, relationships, finances, tomorrow and everything life may bring—but are we preparing our hearts for Christ?
Sister, you cannot borrow someone else’s oil. You cannot live on your mother’s prayers, your grandmother’s faith, your pastor’s relationship with God, or yesterday’s spiritual fire. We must know Jesus for ourselves.
🪔 *How do we stay ready?*
• Stay in God’s Word
• Pray consistently
• Walk in obedience
• Repent when we are wrong
• Forgive and keep our hearts clean
• Remain faithful while we wait
• Keep our relationship with Christ personal and active
The five wise women remind us that *readiness is proven in the waiting.*
Don’t just carry the lamp.
*Carry the oil. Keep the fire burning. Stay ready.*
📖 Matthew 25:13
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
