In this Video, I'm building the first prototype of a custom aluminium rear frame for the BMW R12. The goal is to give the bike a more classic look, with a narrow seat and a clean rear end, without cutting or modifying the original frame. Starting with a 3D scan, I design and build a custom welding jig, bend and weld the aluminium frame, and integrate a tail light directly into the rear hoop. For this project, I'm also using the xTool MetalFab for laser cutting and my first aluminium laser welding work.
