10 Food Invented in Sydney
Sydney gets credited for the harbour. The Opera House. The weather. Rarely for the food. That's about to change.
In this episode of First Bite, we trace 7 foods that were born — or fundamentally transformed — in Sydney. From a tiny espresso bar in Chinatown that quietly named the world's most popular coffee order, to a dish that sparked a national housing debate, to a late-night tray of chips and meat that made it into the Australian Senate.
Some of these go back 6,000 years. One of them was named by a neighbour's kid in a household vote. All of them tell you something true about this city.
Because the first taste is only half the story.
