Would you attempt this brutal 3,000-foot mountain-bike climb?
Join me on an unforgettable ride from Indian Canyon in Acton to North Fork Saddle and Ranger Station, deep inside California’s Angeles National Forest.
The adventure begins at the Indian Canyon trailhead near Soledad Canyon Road and climbs Indian Canyon Road—Forest Road 4N37. After crossing the first ridge, the route drops into the canyon, crosses the creek, and then begins a long, demanding climb through steep grades, loose rocks, sand, and rugged backcountry terrain.
From Indian Canyon, the ride continues along Santa Clara Divide Road—3N17—toward North Fork Saddle. The complete mapped connection is approximately 9.8 miles one way with around 3,000 feet of climbing, making this a serious endurance challenge with incredible high-desert and mountain views as the reward.
This is the kind of trail that tests your legs, bike-handling skills, and determination—but reaching North Fork makes every difficult mile worthwhile.
