Savannah City Hall Architectural Tour

In this tour, Dr. Robin B. Williams takes viewers on a detailed analysis of Savannah's City Hall, arguably the city's most iconic building and a fascinating combination of modern technology and traditional classical style. Guest appearances by Luciana Spracher, Director, City of Savannah Municipal Archives, and Nick Palumbo, District 4 Alderman, City of Savannah. Correction based on feedback from Luciana Spracher: Through a 1986 anonymous donation of $200,000, City Hall’s dome was gilded with 24-karat gold leaf from Germany. The gold dome was unveiled in April 1987. In 2008, the dome was re-gilded as part of an exterior restoration project, and is now glittering with 24-karat Italian gold. Savannah’s City Hall has never featured Dahlonega, Georgia gold.
