Kahilwayan Festival of Santa Barbara, Iloilo | Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2026 Blocking

Kahilwayan is derived from the Hiligaynon word “hilway,” meaning freedom. The Kahilwayan Festival of Santa Barbara, Iloilo is rooted in the town’s historic significance as the first place outside Luzon where the Philippine flag was raised during the struggle against Spanish colonization—symbolizing courage, independence, and unity. As a participating tribe in Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, Kahilwayan represents Santa Barbara’s proud agricultural heritage and revolutionary spirit. Through disciplined choreography, strong rhythms, and symbolic formations, the tribe brings to the stage the story of freedom, community strength, and Ilonggo identity that continues to define Santa Barbara today. #Kahilwayan #KasadyahanSaKabanwahanan2026 #SantaBarbaraIloilo #IlonggoCulture #IloiloFestivals
