🎧 What a HIP HOP Church is Like

Bars, beats, and basketball. That was the common theme for this week's church visit. Out in the projects of Grand Rapids, Michigan - an urban church has been taking a unique approach to cater towards inner-city youth that have grown-up in Kobe jerseys and Air Jordans. The Edge has remixed itself as a hip-hop church, where worship throws down rap lyrics with turntables by taking popular Christian songs and bouncing them off with unique spits that blend pop culture with Jesus Christ. With 40+ gangs, 50% of fatherless homes, and countless children coming into their church without parental supervision, The Edge decided to take an extreme measure to not just speak their community's language, but freestyle it.
