Bach - Fugue in B minor on a theme by Albinoni BWV 951 - Maude Gratton | Netherlands Bach Society

This Fugue in B minor on a theme by Albinoni – recorded here for All of Bach with Maud Gratton – is a makeover of a work by Tomaso Albinoni, and is also derived from earlier work by Bach himself. The theme of BWV 951 has the same flair as the original by the Italian master. Bach’s final result is regarded the best ‘manualiter’ fugue before the publication of the Wohltemperirte Clavier.
