Striving for Glory as Believers

Salvation is the beginning of the Christian life, not the finish line. Between the moment of faith and the moment we see Jesus face to face, God calls us to grow intentionally in Christlikeness. Second Peter 1 outlines a progression of virtues, from faith to love, that believers are meant to pursue with diligence and generosity of spirit. Humility is the foundation of all spiritual growth, because without it we cannot endure suffering well, follow the Spirit, or serve others genuinely. Neglecting this growth carries real consequences, not the loss of salvation, but the loss of reward and the weight of squandered opportunity. God does not simply let us through the door. He wants to lavish abundant reward on those who pursued Him with intention. The goal of all this growth is love, because God is not just a God who has love. He is love. Choose one virtue to pursue this week, not perfectly, but purposefully.
