Bill Withers “Use Me” James Gadson - Drum Cover

What can you see about this song and this groove? So iconic! James Gadson really knew how to come up with unique and creative parts that perfectly fit Bill’s song and made them groove like no other. The hi hat openings on this track are very interesting. They’re not played in a super tight Bernard Purdie hi hat bark style. He plays them more open and loose. It’s almost the exact opposite of what you would expect but it works so perfectly and sounds great!
