Some years several Towns will apply for grants, loans and waivers to upgrade their infrastructure but only a few Towns are actually ready to utilize these funds. You have to have a plan - and Enfield has a plan. 👍 Enfield is READY. We have done years of research and work over the last 4-5 years, with BOTH parties serving in the majority on the Town Council and the Board of Education - and both sides personally saw these needs. Remember, our schools are 50, 60 and 70 years old (except for JFK & EHS) - so it’s our turn, it’s our time to benefit from this HUGE financial assistance. 🛟 Enfield will get $511M worth of FOUR new Pre-K to Grade 5 buildings - and renovate other buildings - for $55M-$60M (capped at $89M) leaving ZERO empty buildings. 🙁 You can “Vote No” and another Town will get this funding. It’s your State taxes. They’re already spent. WHY NOT bring this money BACK TO ENFIELD as an 80-88% reimbursement?!? 💔 A “No” vote fixes NOTHING! If we “fix what we have” the cost is $211M if we started today. Today. But if we spread this out over 20 years for example; with cost increases and inflation, etc. that number would be $330M - WITHOUT REIMBURSEMENTS. 👎 VOTING NO COSTS MORE! Voting No means we have all the same problems tomorrow without any financial support from anyone outside of Enfield. 💚 You can #VoteYESforEPS and have 80-88% of the project’s funding NOT have to come from Enfield’s homeowners!!! 🏡 Plus - new schools bring new families - which increases the tax base - AND lowers our individual responsibilities re: any loans and debt the project causes.
