DJ Paul & Lord Infamous - Tryna Run Game [Screwed]

From the depths of Memphis in the time of grime ‘n crime, if you needed to know exactly which songs your pals gangsta-walked to on a balmy Saturday night, you could buy a cassette with a hand-in-hand exchange. If you wanted to know approximately what kinds of devilry and atrocities your nearest dope fellas were committing, you could also buy a cassette for that, too, which in fact, describes some perky aspects of the nineties. These crackling, sibilant tapes were often unmixed, unmastered and free of art of tracklists, though they contained plenty of ‘too wild to be true’ confessions. Helpfully, if you wanted to book an artist, their phone numbers were usually printed on the tape. It was Lo-fi music, from an embattled city made for, and by people on the margins. It happened in tumbledown shotgun shacks, in dizzying roller rinks, on the scene of drearily dismal alleyways, in parking lots jammed with peacocking young men and their thudding subwoofers, played on the top of the roof and performed on a house balconies, and so forth. Memphis Rap had its dead time, until some Lil B and Viper allegedly resurrected it with not so great energy and zeal as it was during its prime time. DJ Paul and Lord Infamous practically invented what is now known as Cloud Rap, Trap Rap, Crank, and Trillwave. If we spin the time, and give a good glance at the history of music, we'll see the influences are mostly coming from a not so known figures most of the time, same case we got here, in Memphis. DJ Spanish Fly is one of the main ingredients in crafting those almost stuttery, lofty sounds, and by bringin' it all out fresh, though, with not so murky way of rapping the rap. Thankfully, we had Triple 6 Mafia for that. These Memphis cats swiftly came outta nowhere and rescued a newborn underground style. They perfected the sound and went more vicious on the lyrical surface, too. It got popularized then, Memphis quickly multiplicated with various other rappers like; DJ Squeeky, Kapone, Tommy Wright III, Gangsta Pat, and many more. The track I edited is taken from their infamous "Come With Me 2 Hell, II: Lords of Terror" album. My influences are obviously all the Memphis cats I've stated above, with the sheen of DJ Screw's undisputed Chop & Screw technique which I used only to slow the track down, and software editing used Audacity, Paulstretching and Ableton for additional support. There's no way in the world to enjoy these joints without loving to swirl yourself in a narcotic hazed delights. So, it's noteworthy for me to mention substance influence that motivated me to bring this upload to here. The only issue I had was to find correct footage for this particular track. It was a real pain in the ass process, so, I quit searching for it. Anyways, huge shoutouts to DJ Paul and DJ Fly. Rest in Peace to the great DJ Screw and Lord Infamous for their unimaginably crucial contribution to music. There would've been nothing really 'dope' in the world of Hip-Hop without them.
