From China’s Sunken Cities 🚢 to the Legendary Three Gorges

One journey through the heart of China’s Yangtze River — from cities submerged beneath the Three Gorges Dam to the legendary Three Gorges and the mountain city of Chongqing. We begin in Zigui, Hubei, exploring the history of China’s massive Three Gorges resettlement project and the towns that disappeared beneath the reservoir. Then we board a Yangtze River cruise from Yichang, passing through Gezhouba Dam and the Three Gorges Dam before entering the spectacular Xiling, Wu, and Qutang Gorges. Along the way, we experience the Three Gorges Ship Lift, traditional Tujia culture, the Lesser Three Gorges, ancient hanging coffins, Goddess Peak, Kuimen... We also visit Fengdu Ghost City, where Chinese mythology brings the underworld to life. This is more than a Three Gorges cruise.
