The Founding of St. Nektarios Cathedral | Fr. Panagiotes Carras (Full Talk English)

The remarkable story of the founding of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toronto, Canada, told by the ever-memorable Fr. Panagiotes Carras. In this deeply personal talk, delivered in August 2024, Father recounts his journey from the New Calendar Greek Orthodox Church to True Orthodoxy, the struggles of his priestly conscience, and the faithful community that came together to preserve the sacred traditions of the Church. With warmth, humour, and profound emotion, he recalls the influence of St. Philaret of New York, the extraordinary Pascha of 1969, the humble beginnings of the St. Nektarios Cathedral, and the miracles attributed to its beloved patron saint. Above all, his testimony is a moving reminder of the importance of the Divine Liturgy, the holy services, and the saints in the life of every Orthodox Christian. Shared with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Moses and the Holy Metropolis of Toronto. Originally delivered in both English and Greek, Father’s talk has been carefully edited into two complete language editions. This is the English version; the Greek edition is available separately. Fr. Panagiotes reposed in the Lord in August 2026. We share his precious testimony with gratitude for his priestly labours, his steadfast love for Holy Orthodoxy, and the spiritual legacy he leaves behind. May his memory be eternal.
