Keeping a handle on supplies on site can be difficult, but United Rentals has a high-tech answer. Its Supplies on Demand conex box uses technology to not only control access, but to also keep track of exactly who takes what and which items need to be restocked. It also automatically sends billing. Twelve cameras in the ceiling take a skeletal profile of badge holders who enter, tracking their every movement and the items they take.
