Metal Detecting Blackpool Central Pier…You Won’t Believe What I Found! | Beach Metal Detecting UK

Same drill as before, the beach metal detecting continues! Now Chapter 5 of my mission to metal detect every beach along the Fylde Coast, it doesn't matter the weather, I want a new discovery, I’m now heading to the iconic Blackpool Central Pier to see what history and hidden treasures are waiting beneath the sand. Originally conceived after the success of Blackpool North Pier, the Blackpool South Jetty Company was formed in 1864. Construction began in 1867, with the pier designed by Lieutenant-Colonel John Isaac Mawson and built by Richard Laidlaw and Son of Glasgow. The pier officially opened on 30 May 1868, stretching an impressive 503 yards into the Irish Sea. But this time, I'm changing things up... Instead of using a traditional spade, I've brought along my CKG Sand Scoop, opening up a much larger area of beach and making those shallow-water targets far more accessible. Join me for a few days of beach metal detecting. Watch me sift through the sand to see what items I can uncover along the shoreline. We explore the shoreline with a standard scoop, sifting through the layers to see what the tide has left behind.
