Splitting hardy deciduous ferns in the stumpery, Lews Castle Grounds November 2020.

Today we are dividing and splitting lady ferns. They have become congested and made it hard to pick out the other species planted next to them. we are dividing and lifting some to a new location as well as moving some to the back of the fernery. This can be done in autumn or spring.
