Azta'rec Tier ?? - ilvl 290 Resto Shaman - Day 1 kill - 6m 34s

Some notes I made in preparation for this: The frontal cone leaves behind green puddles - not the entire area of the cone, but annoying. Don't get any in the middle centre ring (leave about 10y of space). Sometimes this can bug, and leave puddles in a random area where the clone clearly was not; If there are puddles in the middle you may as well just wipe and go again. Azta'rec takes 99% reduced damage during the intermission... The damage reduction is actually a 20s buff on the boss. Meaning as the intermission gets longer each time, the buff wears off long before the intermission ends. Additionally, as the intermission increments by 1 wave each time, this makes the subsequent intermissions easier to handle the clone that spawns in ?? difficulty as you have longer to kill it each time. Note that in the intermission, you can shove yourself right into the boss so that you only need to move a fraction. But beware of puddles underneath - they're hard to see directly under boss if any have been left there. The intermission happens at 90%, 60%, and 30%. You should time when to transition based on when the upcoming Venom Wave is. EG if boss is at ~65 and there's an upcoming venom wave in 5-10 seconds, you just need to slow down. You become more comfortable in timing this when you learn the speed of the fight and how to pace it. MELEE HITS - for whatever reason, as with all delves from this expansion and the past, Priest gets melee hit for less than 50% of what Resto Shaman does. Resto Shaman melee hits from Azta'rec = 100k on ?, 205k on ?? (410k crits). Priest melee hits from Azta'red = 45k on ?, 90k on ?? (180k crits). This makes Priest feel like an absolute breeze - as long as you kill the intermission add in time, you can play extremely safe and just tickle the boss to death - I bet you can do it with an ilvl ~220 Priest.
