A lot of us say we trust God as if it's a last resort. I feel like when situations come or way, we should look at it with a different heart posture. When trials come our way, we should joyfully bring it before the Father. Understanding that we need our Heavenly Father because it's beyond what we can handle and we get to trust Him with it. "I Trust You" came out of one thought: trust isn't a thing you say, it's the way you walk. It's easy to sing about trusting God after He answers. This song is about trusting Him before — in the middle of the thing that still hasn't come, while the story is unfinished. It's a declaration made from confidence, not from pride. Not because I'm strong. Because I believe what God said. Not a maybe. Not a hope-so. If you're still waiting on something right now, this one is for you. LYRICS Not a maybe Not a hope-so I trust You Today is a new day And I get to trust You Not because it got easy Because You're faithful, always I lay it down I let it go I walk in Your freedom I trust You I don't lean on what I understand I submit And You make it straight The more of You I know The more I trust You I'm not brave I'm just convinced I trust You Not a maybe Not a hope-so Not a backup plan I trust You Not a feeling Not a phrase Not a thing I say It's the way I walk I trust You Some of it hasn't come yet I'm not gonna pretend it has I won't call You something else I'll call You good right now Not when it's finished Not when I see it Right now I trust You My refuge My fortress My strength My shield My healer My shelter in the storm Whom shall I fear? All things work for my good Surely He delivers me Though I walk through the valley I will fear no evil He is with me He is for me He loves me I trust Him Not a maybe Not a hope-so Not a thing I say I trust Him SCRIPTURE BEHIND THE SONG Proverbs 3:5-6 — Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding Romans 8:28 — All things work together for good Psalm 91:2-3 — My refuge and my fortress; surely He delivers Psalm 27:1 — Whom shall I fear?
