For two years, I trained, prepped, invested, and participated in a pageant system with the hope of becoming its ambassador for a year and using that platform to promote issues that matter to women globally. But my experience also left me with some questions. Are pageants becoming money grabs? Are pageants really for everyone, or are they designed for a certain demographic? Do women actually gain something meaningful from participating in pageants today? These questions need answers.
