“Duppy know who fi frighten.” 🇯🇲👻 If you grew up in Jamaica, chances are you've heard that saying before. But is it really only about duppy? Come sit with Miss Ivy as she remembers the old-time duppy stories, outside latrines, bottle torches, and how every little sound after dark could suddenly have you running for your life! 😂 But as we get older, we begin to understand that “Duppy know who fi frighten” carries another meaning too. Sometimes the “duppy” isn't a ghost at all—sometimes it's a person who knows exactly who they think they can frighten or push around. A little Jamaican memory, a little laughter, and one of the sayings many of us grew up hearing. 🇯🇲❤️ Did you grow up hearing “Duppy know who fi frighten”? What did the old people tell you it meant?
