How to Make a Cold Frame (Step By Step)

Cold frames are like little greenhouses that you put on top of garden soil to extend the growing season. This video walks step-by-step through building my own cold frame. The polythelene plastic was purchased from Home Depot There are lots of cold frame kits available— just make sure to do your research. I bought one kit that was complete plastic (including the walls) and it really didn't retain heat very well. If you are using the cold frame during a warmer season make sure to properly vent as it can get very warm! You can also buy automatic vent openers for cheap. This season I used my cold frame to get a head start on kale and carrots— it worked great for that. Hope this helps you!
