From the first line in 1935 to the lines planned for 2030: watch the Moscow Metro grow, line by line, on a real geographic map. The palace stations of the 1930s, the Circle line of 1950–1954, the radial lines that reach out to the new housing districts, the Moscow Central Circle on the old Little Ring railway in 2016, and the Big Circle line, completed in 2023 as the longest metro circle line in the world. The film ends with the new Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line (opened September 2026) and the lines under construction or planned up to 2030. Line numbers follow the official Moscow Metro numbering; the Moscow Central Circle (line 14) is included, the Moscow Central Diameters (suburban rail) and the monorail are not. Dashed: under construction or planned, opening dates are targets. The kilometre counter measures route length on the map, without double counting shared track.
