नेपाल के प्रधानमंत्री बालेंद्र शाह ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में हिमालयी क्षेत्र में जलवायु और आपदा से निपटने के लिए भारत और चीन के साथ साझा मैकेनिज्म बनाने का प्रस्ताव रखा। प्रस्ताव में सैटेलाइट डेटा शेयरिंग, ग्लेशियल लेक्स की निगरानी और सीमा-पार अर्ली वॉर्निंग सिस्टम को मजबूत करने की बात कही गई। भोटेकोशी बाढ़ के बाद शाह ने भारत और चीन समेत मदद करने वाले देशों का आभार जताया और क्षेत्रीय सहयोग पर जोर दिया। Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah has proposed a Himalayan climate resilience mechanism involving Nepal, India and China at the United Nations General Assembly. The proposal includes satellite data sharing, monitoring of potentially dangerous glacial lakes and stronger cross-border early warning systems.
