I hope you enjoy it. I thought it would be nice to start with Bach, you can't go wrong with Bach, and it is a measure of the genius in his music that it works so well on so many instruments. The wonderful thing I find with Bach, is that almost every time I play it, I discover a new way of phrasing. There can be one line, or four lines, depending on how you feel it, and in the music I hear and see different lines coming together each time. My approach with the first movement is perhaps more energetic than you might usually expect. I tend to find that there is this great energy and bounce in the Allegro, and so my main focus is giving a constant feel of movement, almost like the lines are carrying me and the listener along on the journey, with moments of reflection that almost offer a pause before moving forward again. There can't be too much bounce and playfulness however as that is not really the character of this movement and so care must be taken to express the character of the movement, but to express it via the route of an energetic forward moving interpretation. In many ways the tempo I've selected locks the interpretation into this style, hence why I've gone for a faster tempo. Of course this is only my opinion and my interpretation and is no more valid than anyone else's opinion or interpretation. Thank you everyone for reading and listening.
